Vasudhara, the goddess of prosperity
Vasudhara Devi, the goddess of prosperity. She is the keeper of all qualities and treasures necessary for a life free from hardship.
Vasudhara sits in a half-closed position, Lalit Asana, her right leg stretched out, resting on a small pedestal, a water pot. In her six hands she holds a rosary, a mirror, the granting gesture Varada Mudra, the book Prajnaparamita, three ears of rice and in the hand in front of her lap the Amrita vase. The two upper hands represent a fulfilled spiritual life. The middle pair of hands symbolize worldly goods. The ears of rice represent the fertility of the fields and sufficient food. The longevity vase and the granting gesture represent the willingness of the goddess to help.
Her robe and the lotus base are decorated with fine filigree ornaments and set with colored stones.
