Akshobhya Buddha - The source of untiring purification. His name means "Imperturbable," and his presence holds great significance in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism. Akshobhya, the fifth of the Dhyani Buddhas or Wisdom Buddhas, resides in the eastern direction and emanates an exalted calmness. In Tibet, he is revered as "Mitrugpa," the one who is never disturbed by anger or aggression.
The Akshobhya statue bears the five-pointed crown and the full adornment of a Transcendent Buddha. His robe and the lotus base are decorated with fine filigree. He holds an upright vajra staff in his left hand, and his right hand touches the earth in the Bhumisparsha Mudra.
