Amitayus Buddha, also called Aparmita, is revered in the Buddhist tradition as the Bodhisattva of Long Life. In Tibetan Buddhism, Amitayus is one of the three deities of long life: Amitayus, White Tara, and Ushnishavijaya.
Amitayus wears the five-pointed crown and the full adornment of a Bodhisattva. He sits on a lotus pedestal, his legs in Padma Asana, Lotus Position, with his hands in Dhyana Mudra. He holds the Amrita vase with the nectar of immortality. Four pearl necklaces hang from its lid, symbolizing timelessness.
The face carved from lapis lazuli shows the inclusions of the natural stone, giving it a special vitality. The body, arms, and feet are also carved from lapis lazuli. The blue of the stone harmonizes perfectly with the gold tone of the statue. His robe and the surface of the lotus pedestal are decorated with fine filigree elements arranged in spiral patterns. Accentuated with gold-plated pearl wire and turquoise, coral, and lapis lazuli stones.
Let yourself be enchanted by the grace of the Amitayus statue and invite the blessings of long life, wisdom, and inner peace into your life. On the home altar, in a meditation room, or in a collection of Asian art, this statue is a tangible reminder of the path to enlightenment and the limitless journey of the soul.
