Padma Sambhava was a prominent tantric master from North India, known for his profound knowledge and effective practice of Tantra. In the mid-8th century, he was invited to Tibet by the Tibetan king Trisong Detsen to consolidate Buddhism there. Guru Padma Sambhava responded to the call and remained in Tibet for about fifty years. His work laid the foundation for the dissemination of Vajrayana Buddhism in Tibet, where he is still revered today as the "Second Buddha."
Padma Sambhava sits in a relaxed posture on a lotus, holding the Vajra in his right hand and, resting on his left knee, the Patra (a sacred bowl) with a Vase of Immortality (Amrita). In the bend of his left elbow, he holds his symbol, the Khatvanga (tantric staff).
The robe, hat, and lotus base are decorated with fine silver filigree, complemented by colored stones. The filigree work, crafted from fine metal threads, forms intricate patterns that adorn the surface of the statue. This level of craftsmanship requires artistic skill and a deep understanding of Buddhist iconography and symbolism.
This statue is an expression of spirituality and mindfulness. Whether in a meditation room or as an effective decorative piece in one's home – it grants any space a calm and harmonious atmosphere. Made with fine craftsmanship, this Guru Rinpoche statue brings a piece of Nepali culture into your life.
