This intricately crafted statue depicts Maitreya, the Future Buddha, who, according to Buddhist tradition, will descend from the Tushita Heaven to Earth to liberate all sentient beings. Its appearance symbolizes hope, compassion, and the enduring power of the Buddha's teachings.

He sits on a throne with his feet placed on a small lotus base in Bhadra Asana, the noble posture. Maitreya wears a crown and ornate jewelry characteristic of a Bodhisattva. He holds the stalks of two lotus flowers in his hands. His hand gesture is the Dharmachakra Mudra, symbolizing the setting in motion of the Wheel of Dharma. An image full of significance and beauty.

The throne, clothing, and parasol of the figure are elaborately decorated with intricate filigree work. Fine lines form ornamental patterns, giving the figure depth and shine. A small, decorated parasol floats above the statue, with a teardrop-shaped crystal at its apex, capturing light.

This statue embodies profound spiritual symbolism and also demonstrates outstanding Nepali craftsmanship. Carefully crafted with devotion, it is ideally suited for a Buddhist home altar, meditative practice, or as an exquisite decorative piece that brings peace and meaning to any space.
