This filigree adorned statue depicts Sarasvati, the goddess of wisdom, learning, and arts. She is equally revered in Hinduism and Buddhism.
Sarasvati is seated on a lotus base and holds a vina, a traditional Indian string instrument symbolizing the harmony of knowledge and creativity. She is crowned and adorned with the full jewelry of a Bodhisattva.
A swan, her symbolic mount, accompanies her. In Buddhist symbolism, the swan represents mental clarity and discernment—qualities that aid on the path to enlightenment by helping to overcome inner obstacles. According to tradition, Sarasvati is also venerated as the creator of Sanskrit, the sacred language of Hinduism.
The figure is made of copper and decorated with fine filigree ornaments. Each detail is handcrafted in Nepal. The intricate filigree designs highlight the spiritual depth of the figure in a particularly expressive manner.
An artwork for the home altar, meditation space, or as a striking spiritual decorative element in the living area.
