Finely chased gilded Buddha figure. Buddha Shakyamuni in the meditation posture Dhyanasana (crossed legs with the feet on the calves and soles of the feet visibly turned upwards, also called lotus or diamond posture). With his right hand he touches the earth in Bhumisparsa Mudra, the left hand he holds in Dhyana Mudra (gesture of meditation). On his hand is a begging bowl.

The body is made of cast copper, gilded, the face is set in gold. The hair is blackened with iron oxide.
