White Tara
White Tara
White Tara (Tibetan: Drolkar) is associated with long life. She is an embodiment of compassion and is depicted with seven eyes to symbolize the vigilance of the compassionate spirit. White Tara is considered the consort of Avalokiteswora, sometimes also of Buddha Vairochana. She is often portrayed alongside Amitayus and Ushnisha Vijaya (Namgyalma). It is said that Tara protects people as they traverse the ocean of existence.
This White Tara statue sits in full vajra posture. She has additional eyes on her forehead, palm and feet and a lotus flower on both shoulders. She is dressed and crowned like a Boddhisattva, wearing all kinds of precious ornaments and looking beautiful. Her right hand rests on the leg in the mudra of unconditional devotion, while her left hand holds one of the two lotus flowers.
Let the White Tara Statue become a reminder of the compassion that resides within you, and let its presence inspire you to radiate that kindness into the world around you.
