Discover the deeper meaning of Aparmita, also known as Amitayus, who is revered as the bestower of longevity and plays an important role in the Buddhist tradition. This statue can be depicted both as a crowned Buddha and as a Bodhisattva, reflected in the rich garments and the thirteen celestial ornaments that adorn it. In a classic Buddha sitting position that radiates tranquility and serenity, Aparmita holds his hands in the Dhyana Mudra, the meditation gesture. He holds the Amrita vase, a distinctive emblem that contains the nectar of immortality. Four pearl strings hang down from the lid of this vase, interpreted as symbols of timelessness that illustrate spiritual continuity.
The lamasitic ceremony for achieving a long life is a harmonious fusion of Buddhist spirituality and cultural practice deeply rooted in various Buddhist traditions.
This handcrafted piece is cast from copper using the traditional lost-wax casting method. The statue is richly adorned with fine filigree motifs and is both gold-plated and silver-plated, giving it a noble sheen. The face and body are made of carved crystal, while the shawl element, elegantly draped around both arms, is composed of artistically carved and inlaid lapis lazuli elements. Lapis lazuli is known for its vibrant blue color and symbolizes wisdom and truth. Together with the crystal, it creates a powerful representation of spiritual enlightenment and transcendence.
This statue is beautiful in your yoga and meditation practice and as a precious work of art for interior decoration. It is an impressive embodiment of traditional Buddhist art, a focal point for clear thoughts and positive energy.
