The Green Tara, protector against the eight types of fear. She is a significant female Buddha figure. It is also reported that she was a historical figure, the Nepali princess who married the great king Srang-Tsan Gampo and introduced Buddhism to Tibet and China.

She sits gracefully on a lotus pedestal, her legs in Lalit Asana. Her right hand rests on her right knee, the palm turned outward in the Mudra of Generosity, indicating her willingness to give. Her left hand is in Vitarka Mudra, the gesture of teaching. The fingers are stretched upwards, with the ring finger touching the tip of the thumb. On both shoulders, she bears an Utpala, a lotus flower, one fully opened and the other slightly closed, symbolizing her care by day and night.

The statue's robe, her throne and the aureole (background) behind the Tara statue are adorned with fine filigree decorations. Delicate, silver-plated spiral shapes, artfully interwoven with gold-plated pearl wire, form a harmonious floral pattern together with colored stones. The carefully crafted ornaments testify to outstanding craftsmanship and a deep spiritual understanding. Each ornament is precisely handcrafted, creating a unique masterpiece that expresses the deep symbolism of the Green Tara.

Whether for meditation, devotion, or as an artistic centerpiece on a Buddhist altar, this Green Tara statue is an impressive testament to the rich spiritual traditions and art of the Himalayas.
