Green Tara is considered the spiritual wife of Amogasiddhi, the Dhyani Buddha. In the Lamaist tradition, Tara is incarnated in all good women. She is also said to have a historical persona in the Nepalese and Chinese princess who married the great king Srang-Tsan Gampo. She is credited with introducing Buddhism to Tibet and China.
