Samaya Tara, popularly known as Green Tara. Green Tara is considered the spiritual consort of Amogasiddhi, the Dhyani Buddha.
In the Lamaist tradition (Tibetan), Tara is incarnated in all good women. She is also said to be a historical person: the Nepalese/Tibetan (Chinese) princess who married the great king Srang-Tsan Gampo and who is credited with introducing Buddhism to Tibet and China. She is revered because she embodies all good women.
