Jambhala Yab-Yum Statue as the deity of charity and wealth god pair

2.950,00 €

Jambhala is the god of wealth and generosity, often equated with the Hindu god Kubera. In Buddhism, he has taken on the role of a Lokpala, which means he functions as the guardian of a specific quarter. Together with his companion, the goddess Vasudhara, they appear as a couple in Yab-Yum. Their shared endeavor is to gain prosperity in order to help the poor and unfortunate.

Jambhala, as a well-fed god with a big belly, wears a crown adorned with five skulls and the rich jewelry of the Bodhisattva. In his right hand, he holds a Jambhara, a citrus fruit, while his left hand cradles a mongoose (Nakula) that spews jewels from its mouth. His right foot rests on a small lotus pedestal, alongside a conch shell. Sitting on his lap is his partner Vasudhara, who also holds a Jambhara fruit in her right hand and a lotus flower in her left. Both figures are depicted with angry facial features and bared teeth, with Jambhala having bulging, bloodshot eyes and a third eye on his forehead. Vasudhara also wears the five-pointed crown of the Bodhisattva.

This statue is an impressive testament to Nepal's rich spiritual heritage and the artistic excellence involved in its creation. Every detail, from the finely curved filigree ornaments to the golden framing of the faces, reflects the deep devotion and reverence with which it was made. Let the presence of Jambhala and his companion, his Shakti, accompany your meditation path and enrich your home with wealth, compassion, and profound tantric energy.
