Crystal Vajra with intricate filigree from the Himalayan region

This crystal Vajra showcases the rich artistic heritage of the Himalaya region. It rests on a silvered shaft at both ends and floats above a rectangular copper base. The crystal and copper base are adorned with fine filigree ornaments in spiral shapes and floral motifs. Accented with colored stones.

This Buddhist Vajra, or with its Tibetan name: Dorje, is also called a thunderbolt. It represents the indestructible and diamond-like nature of enlightenment. It is a symbol of boundless power.

This Vajra (Dorje) has four arrows with closed tips. It appears in the shape of a lotus bud. A fifth arrow runs through the middle of the Vajra, making a total of five arrows. Thus, the Vajra represents the five bodies of the Dhyani Buddha.

In Tantra, the Vajra symbolizes the masculine principle when held in the right hand. The Vajra can also be regarded as a symbol of enlightenment, as it embodies qualities such as strength, clarity, and spiritual power. It serves as a ritual tool and as a reminder of the practitioner's journey toward wisdom, compassion, and the realization of ultimate truth.

Body made of crystal with copper base. Both are decorated with filigree ornaments and set with colored stones. The filigree is silvered and gold-plated. Patinated for an antique finish. Handcrafted in Nepal.
