Manjushri, the Bodhisattva of wisdom, represents spiritual perfection and enlightenment. This figure is a spiritual symbol of Buddhism.

In Nepalese tradition, Manjushri is revered as the founder of the Kathmandu Valley civilization. With his sword of insight, he split the southern hills, drained the waters of a massive lake and created the fertile valley that is now home to spiritual and cultural traditions.

This depiction shows Manjushri with the sword of wisdom in his right hand and the Prajnaparamita manuscript - "the book of divine wisdom" - on a lotus flower over his left shoulder. The teaching gesture, in which the thumb and index finger form a mudra, symbolizes the dissemination of universal wisdom.

Manjushri, also known as Manjunghose, Vajranga, Vagiswara or by his Tibetan name Jampelyang, is an indispensable figure for spiritual seekers, historians and lovers of Nepali culture. Be inspired by his legend and deep symbolism.
