A stupa, also known as a "chorten" in Tibetan, is an important architectural and spiritual structure in Tibetan Buddhism. These stupas are usually dome-shaped and serve as monuments symbolizing the enlightened mind of the Buddha. They are used as places of meditation and devotion.

This stupa is located in a temple supported by four pillars and an elaborate roof. The pillars are entwined with leaf shapes. The temple roof is crowned by a teardrop-shaped crystal, and four smaller crystal drops hang from the mouths of the dragon heads at each corner of the roof. The four-tiered square base rests on four round feet. Between each foot is a curved copper shield with floral repoussé and embossed decorations, the center of which is a lotus accompanied by two peacocks. The steps above are decorated with fine filigree and accentuated with gemstones. The dome of the crystal stupa is decorated with four carved Buddha votive tablets. A serpentine band of lapis lazuli encircles the dome. Between the dome and the tip, two eyes of lapis lazuli are worked on each side.
