Amoghasiddhi is regarded in Buddhist iconography as the fifth of the Dhyani Buddhas. He represents the overcoming of fear and the transformation of action into wholesome activity.
The statue depicts Amoghasiddhi seated in the lotus posture, padma asana, on a rectangular, multi-tiered throne. His right hand is raised in abhaya mudra, the gesture of protection and fearlessness. The left hand rests in the lap and holds an alms bowl.
Behind the figure rises a mandorla-shaped aureole that frames the Buddha and, together with the throne, forms a clearly structured, symmetrical overall composition. At the front of the throne, a pataka banner is applied, subtly softening the strict geometry of the form.
Robe, throne, and aureole are decorated with filigree. Spirally curved wires, filled with small arched elements, are combined into continuous patterns. Set colored stones are integrated into the filigree surfaces and form floral motifs.
The symmetrical arrangement and the elaborated ornamentation follow traditional Buddhist iconography and lend the statue a sovereign presence.
