Ganesha Statue – Buddhist Figure

Small gold-plated Ganesha statue. Ganesha is the elephant-headed god of wisdom and success. He is regarded as the remover of obstacles, Vighneshwara. He sits on a lotus pedestal, his mouse mount, mushika, shown at its base. His hands hold a mala, an axe, parashu, a radish, mula, and a bowl of sweets, laddu.

The detailed figure is cast using a modern process. Position and attributes follow the traditional iconography of Vajrayana Buddhism. It is suitable for a Buddhist home altar or meditation room and can also be part of an Asian art collection. The statue can be presented freestanding.
