Created in the workshop of Shanta Shakya in Patan, Nepal. One of a kind.
Small gold-plated Manjushri statue. He sits on a lotus pedestal, his right hand raising the flaming sword of wisdom, while his left hand shows vitarka mudra, the gesture of teaching, at his chest. Beside his shoulder, a lotus blossom opens, bearing the Prajnaparamita, the Book of Wisdom. Manjushri is the bodhisattva of wisdom.
The detailed figure is cast using a modern process. Position and attributes follow the traditional iconography of Vajrayana Buddhism. It is suitable for a Buddhist home altar or meditation room and can also be part of an Asian art collection. The statue can be presented freestanding.
