Bhaisajyaguru Medicine Buddha Filigree Statue

1.650,00 €

Bhaisajyaguru is known as the Medicine Buddha and is revered as an embodiment of healing and compassion.

The figure shows the Buddha seated in the lotus position, vajra asana, on a lotus pedestal. He wears a monastic robe. His left hand rests in the lap in meditation mudra and holds a medicine bowl. In his right hand, he holds a branch of the myrobalan plant, a healing plant iconographically associated with the Medicine Buddha. Behind the head rises a drop-shaped aureole. The depiction follows the traditional visual language of Buddhist art.

Spirals formed from fine metal wires are filled with small arched elements and combined into a continuous ornamental pattern. Set turquoise, coral, and lapis lazuli stones structure the surface and add subtle color accents.

The statue is handcrafted in Nepal and stands in the tradition of Buddhist art.
