Shiva Lingam in Spatika with Filigree

950,00 €

The Shiva Lingam is a central symbol of Hindu iconography and stands for creative force, renewal, and the unity of form and energy.

The lingam made of clear Spatika, rock crystal, is set into a yoni form crafted from copper. At the side, a trident, trishula, is inserted into a small loop. The combination of lingam and yoni refers to the interaction of the male and female principle and belongs to the established classical representations of this symbolic form. At the back, a flat serpent arches over the lingam.

The pedestal, the cobra, and the mount are decorated with filigree. Fine wires are shaped into spiral forms, filled with small arched elements and assembled into continuous patterns. Colored stones are set into the filigree and formed into floral motifs. Along the lower edge of the pedestal runs a continuous band of set stones.

The work combines traditional form with a free artistic interpretation and a high level of craftsmanship.
